Tickets on Sale for Mason Jennings and Elephant Revival at DCA, May 7

Mason Jennings, with special guest Elephant Revival, will be appearing in the first show of the Door Community Auditorium’s 2011 Summer Mainstage season on Saturday, May 7, at 7 pm.

Raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Mason Jennings is an American pop/folk singer-songwriter. He began playing guitar and writing songs at age thirteen and eventually moved to Minneapolis to pursue a career in music. Jennings is best known for his simple yet memorable melodies, deep lyrics, literary and historical subject matter, and unique voice. Jennings has eight CD’s to his credit, has toured the U.S. extensively and his music has also appeared in film.

Neo-acoustic quintet Elephant Revival plays a unique blend of music from a rising new musical genre called Transcendental Folk. In one concert, the band is capable of performing Scottish/Celtic fiddle tunes, original folk pieces, traditional ballads, indie rock and reggae grooves as well as 1940’s and `50’s jazz standards. Hailing from Nederland, Colorado, Elephant Revival has performed with the likes of Bela Fleck, John Paul Jones and George Clinton.

The Door Community Auditorium will announce the full lineup for the 2011 Summer Mainstage season by April 29. Please be watching for further details.
