Sister Bay Fall Festival Celebrates 65th Anniversary! Oct 15-17

Leaves of golden yellow, fire orange and crimson red are dangling from the trees throughout Door County, signaling autumn’s arrival and with the change of seasons, the time to festively enjoy the fruits of another successful summer.

The “Granddaddy” of all Door County festivals, The annual Sister Bay Fall Festival boasts…

  • the Peninsula’s biggest parade of the year on Saturday morning at 11 am,
  • a 3-day juried arts and crafts festival with vendors who only sell art and crafts they make themselves,
  • delectable food and beverages sold by Door County non-profit groups and local businesses,
  • activities for kids and kids of all ages and
  • live music throughout town.

The grand finale of the weekend is on Sunday at 2 pm with the Ping Pong Ball Shoot, where more than 5,000 ping pong balls labeled with discounts and prizes from area businesses are launched into the crowd of thousands.

Food and drink sales begin at 10 am Friday and Sunday, 9 am Saturday before Highway 42 is closed for the parade, which begins at 11 am. This year’s Parade Marshall will be the 2010 Sister Bay/Liberty Grove Volunteer of the Year – the winner of which will be announced during the parade.

The Preble High School Marching band, the Southern Door High School Marching band, the Gibraltar School District Marching band and the Milwaukee Scottish Pipe Band will all provide rhythm and beats for the parade floats and participants. All Door County individuals, businesses and groups are invited to enter a float into the parade or dress up in costume and entertain the crowd. Line-up is on Maple Dr./County ZZ past the Sister Bay Bowl.

The Sister Bay Lions Club will host a Door County Fish Boil Friday night at the Sister Bay/Liberty Grove Fire Station; the Gibraltar High School Junior Class will host a Cake Walk Friday night in the Village Hall and the Northern Door Kiwanis will flip as many pancakes as you can eat Saturday morning in the Village Hall. Teens from all schools are invited to a Teen Dance in the Village Hall Saturday night.

Entertainment and games are available for kids of all ages with inflatable games, bungee jumping and more, dog lovers will revel in the Door County Humane Society Dog Show on Saturday. Live music Friday and Saturday.
