The sounds of classical guitar, the perfect music for your wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, or brunch – solo acoustic guitar by George Sawyn. His instrument is the traditional classical guitar, gently amplified to cover a room with an elegant musical atmosphere, without interfering with conversation.
Sawyn’s musical repertoire covers a wide spectrum including many original works, diverse and yet familiar. He draws from the classical composers such as Bach, Vivaldi, and Dvorak; the “Standards” as sung by Frank Sinatra, Nat Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, and Tony Bennett; and popular songs of the 60s, 70s, and 80s by such stars as Nora Jones, The Beatles, James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, and George Benson. In addition, special requests from you or your guests are welcome.
DesignWise Studios Fine Art Photography and Videography features the work of George Sawyn in a forthcoming full-length production on the wedding of Hongling and Kyle at Bjorklunden this summer. Here’s a short clip from the film that includes Sawyn’s “Night of the White Rainbow,” an original.
The performer is a 38-year veteran of the Chicago music scene, guitarist George Sawyn. Over the years, George has worked with many of Chicago’s finest musicians and bands, playing many styles of music including rock, disco, country, jazz, and classical, and has acquired a wealth of musical repertoire and experience. But, his specialty is the solo acoustic guitar …soft, gentle, unobtrusive.
Since relocating to Door County, Wisconsin in 2010, George has entertained thousands of Door County residents and vacationers at local venues such as The Sturgeon Bay Yacht Club, Thorpe House Inn in Fish Creek, Pasta Vino in Ellison Bay and Al Johnson’s in Sister Bay. He provides ceremony and dinner music for dozens of weddings and other private events each year.

Imagine a flock of snowy white doves taking flight, circling your guests and flying off into the horizon. Here’s an imaginative, yet affordable way to personalize your wedding and make it quite unique. Your guests will be amazed and mesmerized with this more memorable and environmentally friendly alternative to flowers or balloons – a dove release.
Doves have been a symbol of love, fidelity, purity, holiness and freedom since the beginning of time. Doves contribute to life’s celebrations because of the symbolism associated with them. Celebrate your wedding day with a display and release of white doves. Having a display of white doves is guaranteed to add that “something special” to your celebration.
It is said that Doves navigate by the earth’s magnetic field. Gary Thomson‘s doves have a range of about 100 miles and for the safety of the birds, weather is a factor in the release. Also, time of day is another factor as the doves need a few hours of daylight to navigate back to their home. Services are available the year ’round however, there are certain conditions which would prohibit the safe release of birds. These include, but may not be limited to: any kind of storm, heavy rain, snow, dense fog, unusually strong winds and all forms of frozen precipitation. Cold weather does not pose a problem for the birds. They actually love to fly in the brisk air.
