Learn Rug Hooking This Summer at Sievers on Washington Island

Come join me, Beth Ciesar at Sievers School of Fiber Arts on Washington Island this summer for a week of primitive rug hooking! I will start you at the beginning, where you can create your own story and develop it using patterns, colors and textures that appeal to you. The goal is to begin from your own ideas, not mine and I will help you discover your own creative power!

Nine years ago my two sisters and I attended a work shop in Williamsburg, Virginia. I discovered this fabulous new passion and haven’t stopped hooking since! My work has been displayed in Art Galleries now all over Door County and all the way to Vermont’s Shelburne! Prior to that I worked as an interior designer for Marshall fields, owned a hugely successful clothing store, The Fish Creek Clothier and segueyed my love for impressionist art and painting into my rug designs which has brought me the most fulfillment of all my creative pursuits.

I want to share my talent with you so you can express your dreamiest visions using the medium of hooking and discovering that you too can find fullfillment in this art from as well! Who knows what you can come up with! My focus is really to help you bring your own desires to the surface and I will help will help you achieve that!

  • Frame
  • Sharp Scissors
  • Hartman Hook
  • Monks cloth or linen
