In his former career, he was a concert pianist, chamber musician and faculty member at Lawrence University Conservatory of Music in Appleton, Wisconsin. He also taught at Interlochen Arts Camp in Michigan and Southeastern Louisiana University. Gary still enjoys collaborating musically with his family and while presiding as the officiant at weddings, he will often perform with his wife Elizabeth as part of the Arioso Ensemble that includes harp, violin and cello.
