Ben always encourages couples to let him know of any songs that are special to them, and it is possible that he can learn them! Ben provides a sound system for himself, as well as for the officiant, and anyone doing readings.

He learned quickly how to play guitar in the “Heritage Ensemble” (now called the “American Folklore Theater”) and performed 2 summers in Peninsula State Park. Joining his friends Michael Raye, and Bob Starr he performed with “Fresco,” “The Johnson’s” and “The Works” and more recently with Dan Mayhew in “Ben There Dan That” from 2007-2013. He donates his time to entertain residents at Pine Crest retirement home and the Dorchester’s “Rock N’ Roll” festival where clients rock in their rocking chairs, and roll in wheel chairs! Ben’s solo performance is split between sweet love songs, and funny, quirky, and even odd songs collected over the years. His favorite’s are by Loudon Wainwright III, Keb Mo, John Prine, and of course James Taylor!

The South Room, which is The Log Den’s largest area, can accommodate almost any event and serves 75 – 175 people. It has many windows, including a sunroom area. Audio-visual equipment includes a LCD projector and screen.
Chuck Sully, owner of Crusty Uprising, makes a variety of more than 15 breads, as well as scones and rolls, that he sells to businesses throughout Northeast Wisconsin.
Chuck has been baking bread at the Algoma Farm Market Kitchen for the last seven years.
“I do it for therapy,” says Sully. “I love giving people good bread.”
A beautiful organic farm featuring herbs, veggies, eggs and weddings. About Thyme is a private property and is shown only by appointment. Maximum capacity in the barn is 250, maximum capacity for a sit down dinner is 200 guests. Events must end by 11 pm.

Jerry Voelker and the Jolly Gents have been performing for almost fifty years. The band has played in the Midwest, Russia, China, Mexico, Europe, Hawaii and on a number of cruises. The five-piece band plays a variety of styles including Czech, German polkas and waltzes, and modern jitterbug and polka masses.
“Our crowd is old and getting older,” says Jerry Voelker, who has led Jerry Voelker & the Jolly Gents for almost five decades. “I doubt I’ll ever see it come back the way it was. We used to play weddings all the time. The last wedding we played for was in Oshkosh. That must be seven or eight years ago.
