The Schoolhouse Artisan Cheese Shop will be glad to assist you in preparing the perfect cheese selections for your wedding or event. Located in Door County, the Peninsular Jewel of Wisconsin, Schoolhouse Artisan Cheese features the largest selection of handmade Wisconsin Artisan Cheese. They currently represent over 30 artisan cheesemakers from America’s Dairyland. They also feature many dry cured artisan meats, mostly from Wisconsin. The European style cheese shop / bistro, cheese boards, and a wide variety of craft beers and wine.
Creating delicious cakes, cupcakes and desserts made to order (and retail) and always made from scratch, FlourGirl Patissier located at the Country Walk Shops in Sister Bay, is pleased to create them just the way you like them!
“I make traditional cakes, of course, but I’ve also made some really crazy cakes,” says FlourGirl Sarah Basch. “Stanley Cup cakes, golf cakes, ice fishing cakes, lighthouse cakes, and all sorts of unusual groom and wedding cakes. If a customer can describe it, I can usually make it.”
Chuck Sully, owner of Crusty Uprising, makes a variety of more than 15 breads, as well as scones and rolls, that he sells to businesses throughout Northeast Wisconsin.
Chuck has been baking bread at the Algoma Farm Market Kitchen for the last seven years.
“I do it for therapy,” says Sully. “I love giving people good bread.”

Chef Bruce Alexander, well-known for his landmark restaurant at Hotel du Nord in Sister Bay, is enjoying his ninth year at Alexander’s in Fish Creek. Their hand-crafted, small-batch, hard ciders are nothing like the typical mass-produced cider products advertised on TV. Island Orchard Ciders are organic and gluten-free with 6.9% alcohol by volume and bottled in special glass bottles at their Cider House in Ellison Bay. Dorothy Mirkes Lopez is Door County’s Private Chef (DCPC), specializing in small catered events with a guest list of 70 or less. Whenever possible, she uses fresh, organic, local, Wisconsin-grown, raised or locally produced ingredients, as well as private-blend coffees and the world’s finest teas. Dorothy can also assist in finding an event site, creating a menu and organizing the event including food staff, wait staff and bartenders to provide champagne service, wine service or a self-service bar.
DCPC services are available throughout Door County and elsewhere in Wisconsin at private homes, resorts, cottages, historic sites, art galleries, wineries, parks and beaches. DCPC covers it all from the dishes to serving equipment, with setup and takedown included.
Maxwelton Braes Lodge provides a fabulous place to host a wedding of almost any size.
Enjoy their historic lodge that was built in the early 1900’s, complete with lodging accommodations for up to 95 of your guests. Vintage Fairway Suites, one- and two-bedroom Lodge Suites, deluxe Lodge Rooms, basic Lodge Rooms and two, large, off-site homes for groups of up to 18 persons, Maxwelton Braes Lodge also has a restaurant, a bar and a private event area. French Creek Bakery & Cafe is a custom wedding and specialty bakery for your special event.

Manuel Cifre descended from four generations of bakers, naming his Door County operation Lola’s in honor of his mother, who passed away in 2007.
He began working as a teenager at his parent’s bakery, “La Rosa,” for 26 years. Then started his own bakery, “La Dolce Vida,” in New York City which he operated for 11 years before moving to Madison, where he lived and worked for 18 years, baking at Stella’s. He has a lifetime of experience, readily apparent the first time you stop in at Lola’s in Sturgeon Bay. His custom wedding cakes and sweet table dessert treats are sure to delight.
