Win an iPod! Door County Coalition Hosts Teen Alcohol Prevention Town Hall Meeting in Jacksonport, Apr 8

Underage drinking is typically a major concern in most rural communities… because drinking usually includes driving.

alcoholTo further investigate the issue in a forum setting, the Door County Alcohol and Other Drug Coalition will host a Town Hall Meeting on Thursday, April 8, at the Jacksonport Community Center (3365 County Road V).  Starting at 6 pm with snacks, The program will run from 6:30 – 8 pm. The focus will explore Door County Youth alcohol consumption and will include some of the latest findings in brain-alcohol research. Other areas of risk involved with underage alcohol use will also be discussed.

The program will include a panel of high school students who will discuss questions about alcohol use, their own concerns and trends they are witnessing among their peers.

Nearly 45% of Door County teens self-reported through the Youth Risk Behavior Survey that they had at least one drink of alcohol in the 30 days prior to taking the survey.  Underage drinking is a concern in our community.
