Door County Housing Trust Committee Invites the Public to Attend a “Housing Trusts 101″ Workshop, May 17

The Door County Housing Trust Committee, in collaboration with the National Community Land Trust Academy, is offering an introductory workshop on housing trusts.
The housing trust concept is being explored for Door County as a potential manner in which to provide greater access to housing for working residents, to involve the community in the control of housing subsidies, and to preserve the affordability of such housing permanently. Members of the public are invited to attend, the details of which are listed below.

Registration Fee: $20 ($8 optional lunch)
At the Housing Trusts 101 workshop, participants will have the opportunity to learn about the following topics:
- overview of the housing trust model
- key considerations in establishing a housing trust
- operation and administration issues
- housing subsidies
- mortgage financing
- property taxation

This workshop is being presented by the National Community Land Trust Network and Couleecap (a Wisconsin Community Action Agency), with assistance from the Wisconsin Department of Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) and the Wisconsin Division of Housing and Economic Development. The workshop is being sponsored by the Village of Sister Bay.
