It’s finally March! Winter will soon be behind us and spring is making itself felt in the longer days and the quality of the air.

Here at Third Avenue Playhouse, we are pleased to announce that, with hope and a little elbow grease, we have met our High Hopes Matching Funds Challenge.  Shortly after the first of the year, one of our past donors issued the challenge, promising to match, dollar-for-dollar, contributions up to $10,000 made by March 1.

Not only did we meet the challenge, we exceeded it! Thanks to your support, we raised $10,186. Our heartfelt thanks to those of you who contributed to the campaign.  Please know that every dollar raised will be used to offset expenses and to bring you quality entertainment at affordable prices.

This spring we’re pleased to welcome back some of our favorite performers:

  • On March 7, Playtime Jazz returns to our stage. This year, the Wisconsin-area group features the smooth vocals and warm piano stylings of Helen Exner and the powerful guitar of Chris White.
  • On March 14, the gang from Daddy D Productions is back to rock around the clock with 50s Gold. Get your tickets now and let the good times roll!
  • On May 2, Bent Grass will treat you to both traditional bluegrass and gospel music and
  • On May 16, Kevin Van Ess and Talk of the Town make their first appearance at TAP.  The six-piece group is one of the hottest Dixieland/Swing style groups north of New Orleans.

What could be better than the end of winter?  How about the romance and comedy of our spring theater production – Neil Simon’s Barefoot in the Park, the classic romantic comedy about a conservative young lawyer and his free-spirited new bride. Eight peformances are scheduled from April 16 – April 26.

Beginning this month you can save even more money with a TAP-Pass Membership.  Your $100 annual membership entitles you to purchase two full-priced, general admission tickets for each production at a 50% discount. And now you can receive specialty discounts when you show your TAP-Pass to participating local merchants like Harmann Studio, Perry’s Cherry Diner, Enchantments, Copper Kettle, Serendipity Massage and Bodywork, Madison Avenue Wines and more!

To find out more about our membership program see the entire Spring Issue of TAPestry. Thank you for your support of Third Avenue Playhouse and the performing arts.  We’ll see you at the theater!
